Research

Integrated Quantum Materials strives to discover novel states of matter emerging in advanced solid-state materials and electronic devices. We employ theoretical and experimental techniques to explore, characterize and understand quantum matter systems. We combine the fields of strongly correlated systems, such as those with many interacting electrons or ions, with state-of-the-art device engineering techniques. Our group pushes the boundaries of humanity’s understanding of physics and investigates systems that fall outside the standard models of the solid state. We achieve this by carrying out electrical, thermal and spectroscopic measurements on materials and devices under extreme conditions such as reduced or fractional dimensionality, high pressures, cryogenic temperatures, high magnetic fields and high electric fields.
