Dr Nicolaus Linneu de Holanda

Dr Holanda works at the interface between industry and academia. He has been Chief Data Scientist at Rio Analytics, as well as holding research positions at the Brazilian Centre for Research in Physics, the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Rio de Janeiro, and Integrated Quantum Materials in Cambridge.  His PhD research included symbolic algebra-approaches to physics beyond the Standard Model.  His later projects investigated quantum software algorithms, quantum information and condensed matter systems, particularly phase transitions and topological materials. Dr Holanda is a highly experienced data scientist and software developer and has worked on several projects in collaboration with companies such as Braskem, BP, Chevron, EDP, Petrobras and Repsol. His research involves applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence to failure prediction, epidemiological forecasting and materials science.
